Welcome to my prelude of the Money Magic Series. I know firsthand that money is a very intimate topic, so I'll start off by gaining your trust. 😏

When I’m not brainstorming 🧐 useful posts for my followers, I’m working as a financial aid counselor at Columbia College Chicago (Columbia); or teaching Zumba® in Northwest Indiana (this is my side hustle). 

I’ve been working for Columbia since 2015 educating families on their options to finance their education, as well as promoting healthy money habits. Currently, I am actually in the midst of building our very own financial education program using our online education platform, Canvas.

Creating a program from scratch requires a lot of research, creativity, patience, and time. Research wise, I’ve read numerous books and articles on topics ranging from federal aid to investing. I had actually started doing all this research because of my own knowledge gaps with money.

Earning your Master’s Degree looks really cool in your signature section, but not so much in your pocket (well, if you end up needing more student loans that is). 

Long story short, I’m over $100K 💸 in debt, and not making a six-figure income.

Word of Advice: Do as I say, not as a I did.

In all, I’ve been learning so much with all the research I’ve been doing for the past four years, things I wish I knew growing up. So, I hope I’ve reached you before you dig yourself into a financial hole 🕳, like me. If not, my tips and tricks will serve more like a ladder out of the hole, which is still cool.

It’s 2019, so I’ll be introducing you to some of my favorite online banks and telling you why I switched from your typical brick-and-mortar to the online world (hint: less fees).

This will be especially essential to my online-shoppers. This edition will cover my top 5 rebate apps as well some bots that negotiate your utilities for you.

Grow My Money

This has been my favorite learning topic so far because so many people get turned off by the concept (or maybe just intimidated). Can you guess what it is? Hint: It starts with S.

Educate Yourself

Continuing your education is 🗝. It’s all about the hustle and staying up-to-date on new information and strategies. In this edition, I‘ll be giving you access to my resources; but if you have any that I don’t mention, please drop the titles in an email or in the comment section. 😉
